ITEM 1. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 12:00.
The last item under ITEM #3 was moved to the first item under the same.
ITEM 2. ACTION ITEM
Councilor Recognition
Mr. Steve Beaty with the Roswell Firefighter's Association presented the fire
committee members with a plaque signifying appreciation for support of the
Roswell Fire Fighter's Association.
Fire Marshal Puckett presented certificates to Fire Inspector Aldrich and
Fire Inspector Smith for their commitment and initiative in furthering their
education and achieving national certification in their field of work.
ITEM 3. NON-ACTION ITEMS
Ambulance Advisory Oversite Committee
Mr. Loy presented to the committee, the AAOC's recommendation for ambulance
services to the city of Roswell and Chaves County. The recommendation is for the
city to submit for RFP's to provide ambulance services to the community.
Gonzalez moved to accept the AAOC's recommendation to Request Proposals for
ambulance service to the city. He further requested to delete items that would
allow AMR's participation in formulating the benchmarks of criteria.
Councilor Landez seconded the motion. Councilor Magee concurred and motion
passed.
Other
Councilor Magee advised she would attempt to convene a council workshop on
firefighter pay and benefits in or about November of 2000. This would be in time
to address possible changes in the mid year budget process.
Inspector Aldrich provided a demonstration of Owen, the ATF Arson Canine.

With no other items on the agenda, the meeting was adjourned at 12:45 p.m.
